The C. Aaron McNeece Field Education Scholarship was established by the College of Social Work’s Field Advisory Committee to provide assistance to graduate and undergraduate students during their field placement. These deserving BSW and MSW students are provided financial assistance as they work in a variety of social work settings to gain real-world experience in the field.

If I had not received this scholarship, I would not have been able to train under the VA's astute social work team who continue to impact my career until this day, nor would I have had the opportunity to help veterans better cope with their traumatic experiences that they incurred while serving this country."  Michael Barnes, MSW 2015

The scholarship was named in honor of Dr. Aaron McNeece who retired in 2008 after serving as an FSU College of Social Work faculty member for 30 years. He is internationally recognized for his work in chemical dependency and treatment for criminal offenders. Dr. McNeese held various leadership positions at the College of Social Work, including serving as Dean from 2004 to 2008.
