Immersive Cinema

How does cinematic storytelling change when the movie screen is replaced by a 360-degree space? What are the creative opportunities (and challenges) when the camera sees in every direction? Where will we be if there are no boundaries to visual storytelling? Immersive cinema, which fully surrounds the viewer in a cinematic world created by the filmmaker, is this new visual frontier. The faculty, students, and alumni of the College of Motion Picture Arts are eager to explore this terrain together in a special summer research project that will keep Florida State University on the cutting edge of motion picture storytelling and prepare students for success in an ever-evolving industry.
