Athletic Scholarship in Honor of Brian Mand
The Athletic Scholarship in Honor of Brian Mand was created in memory of the late Brian Mand, who worked at Florida State in athletics administration for 22 years. This scholarship is awarded to an FSU student athlete each year.
Brian Mand worked at Florida State for 22 years over two stints in various administrative roles in academics, compliance and student services. Mand worked in the Seminoles' athletic administration and compliance departments for 18 years (1980-98) and then returned as FSU's Associate Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services from 2009-13.
An initiative to raise money for an endowed athletic scholarship at Florida State to honor Mand was spearheaded by former FSU administrator and family friend Bill Shults, in conjunction with Seminole Boosters Inc.
"'Brian just wanted to help the student-athletes at each step of his career," Shults said. "Brian has always wanted to make a difference and work hard to help the athletics department get better every day."
