Join us as we celebrate the Higher Education program’s 60th anniversary. The legacy of Dr. Melvene Hardee and the LifeNet that she created continues to connect Higher Education professionals to one another and to improve our field.
We celebrate Dr. Barbara Mann, Dr. Hardee’s student and our dear friend and colleague, whom we lost just days before the 2017 Hardee Fellows Induction. We honor her legacy and commitment to the Hardee Center through the creation of the annual Dr. Barbara Mann Award.
We move into 2018 with a new director, Dr. Kathy Guthrie, associate professor in the Higher Education program, and a former student of fellow Hardee Board Member, Dr. Phyllis McCluskey-Titus, who says of Dr. Guthrie, “She is a superstar and I am so proud to be a part of her finding FSU!” All thanks to the LifeNet!
To honor our history, Dr. Guthrie will begin collecting oral histories from Dr. Hardee’s students. If you would be willing to share your story or volunteer your time to collect others, please contact Gabrielle Garrard at ggarrard@fsu.edu. We hope to collect the first at this year’s NASPA conference in Philadelphia, so let us know if you plan to attend.
As we pass into the new year and a new era for the Hardee Center, we hope you will continue to honor the role Hardee has played in your career through your support of the LifeNet, each other, and our students. Please consider your gift to the Hardee Center fund to support student research, travel, and our summer practicum trip.
