Student Travel for Documentary Project
This fall, four students from the School of Communication's Digital Media Production program are producing a documentary about the lack of opportunities and accommodations for students with disabilities on college campuses. The story centers around a disability assistance program at Edinboro University, which was once considered one of the nation's best higher education programs for students with physical disabilities. In 2018 the program was cancelled due to financial issues, including regulations that prevented continued funding from the state's Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. The students who relied on the program, some of whom chose Edinboro specifically because of this program, are now left without the resources and support needed to finish their degrees. While our film will tell the stories of these students, it will also examine what universities across the U.S. can do to support students with disabilities.
Please help us create this documentary and further the conversation around disability rights in our country. If you are unable to donate at this time, please share this project with others! All donors will receive a thank you in the closing credits
