The College of Music Trombone Studio is raising money for their main recruiting event for 2015/2016. This event helps with recruitment, greatly benefits the current student body, and helps raise the stock of an already elite trombone studio.

Florida State Trombone Day 2015/2016

This coming January, the trombone studio will be hosting our third annual trombone day, which is our major recruiting event. The event has grown over the past two years, and this year we are gearing up to have one of the highest billed trombone events in the country.

Last year we had over 50 young trombonists from Junior and Senior High Schools from Florida, Georgia, and Alabama and many of our incoming freshman class were involved in the event. This year with special guests Scott Hartman and Dr. John Marcellus we anticipate having closer to 100 participants, of not only high school and junior high school students but students from other universities and colleges who may be considering transferring or coming to graduate school at FSU. This event also affords amazing experiences for our current undergraduate class. They will have access to a world-class solist, one of the most famous trombone pedagogues in North America, trombone equipment from Sheridan Brass, and printed music and accessories from Beethoven & Company.

Much of the funds have been generously given to us by the College of Music, however I am looking to raise $1500 more to make sure all of our costs are covered for the event. This is an exciting event, and puts the trombone studio at FSU in the position to be one of the most exciting studios in the country.
