Creating a world that is just, caring and thriving!
LeaderShape at Florida State University desires to increase the number of people who lead with integrity and have a healthy disregard for the impossible. We do this through hosting the Institute, a week long program for undergraduate students to develop their leadership skills and create a vision for a better future. As we look ahead to 2017, we are inviting you to join us in the continued expansion of LeaderShape at FSU.
"I am forever changed because of this experience." 2015 Institute cluster facilitator
"I realized that conflict and change are not always negative, and are in fact necessary to create my vision." 2015 Institute participant
LeaderShape at FSU has experienced over 11 years of unprecedented success developing leaders. In 2015 alone, we doubled the size of LeaderShape from the previous year. $800 funds one student's participation in Leadership. The Institute encourages participants to explore not only what they want to do, but who they want to be. During the intensive week, participants meet and work with 140 students from diverse backgrounds, as well as create a personal vision - an individual commitment to creating a postive change in the world. At the end of the Institute, participants will:
-
Commit to identify core ethical values and commit to action
-
Identify when their behavior is not in congruence with their core ethical values
-
Develop relationships where the dignity and contributions of all are acknowledged and respected
-
Create a vision for the greater good of a community
-
Develop skills to be able to successfully work in groups to accomplish collective vision
-
Articulate action steps to implement a vision
-
Increase their capability to produce extraordinary results
While the Institute is only one week, these students from all over campus, return to Florida State energized and ready to create change for our campus and local community. Through your donation, you are helping ensure that students from FSU continue to have this transformative experience that directly impacts our campus community. You are not only helping to cultivate development in an individual student's life, but also supporting a culture that brings together leaders from across campus to solve the burning issues that Florida State has.
