What is the Little Dinner Series?
Each semester since 1957, majors in the Dedman College of Hospitality work side-by-side with instructors in a catering management course to create a series of four-course themed dinners. Every element - from the menu to décor - is conceptualized and operated by a group of students, tasked with planning their own unique event.
The series is as "hands-on" as you can imagine. When groups aren't managing their own evening, they join as the staff for their fellow classmates' dinners.
What will your contribution go towards?
Investing in the future of our students is critical to ensuring their success as they enter into their respective fields. That's why we need your support in upgrading the kitchen appliances used for the Little Dinner Series and supplemental coursework.
The current appliances used in these courses are outdated and in need of replacement. Without modern equipment, our students are limited in their ability to learn and practice the latest culinary techniques. Your contribution will enable us to provide our students with the best learning experience possible.
We want to ensure that our students have access to the latest technology and tools. With new appliances, they will be able to explore and master the latest culinary trends, techniques, and best practices, preparing them for a successful career in the respective fields - many of which will be in the food and beverage industry.
With your support, we can provide the college with the resources necessary to upgrade the kitchen appliances and provide students with an unparalleled opportunity. Contributions will help guarantee that future generations of hospitality majors will have the latest equipment needed to continue the legacy of the Little Dinner Series.
