CARE Study Abroad
First-generation college students and students with other underrepresented identities often do not engage in study abroad experiences – CARE wants to change that.
CARE wants to help break down barriers and increase the number of students graduating with an education abroad experience. Experiences learning abroad not only provide access to unique opportunities but provide a better cultural understanding and enhance career skills for increasingly global work environments.
This program will support an educational experience abroad for up to 15 first-generation students. A full semester academic course will lay the groundwork for these students to experience an immersive trip to the Bahia Region of Brazil. The estimated cost is $3,200 per student and includes all airfare, lodging, food, day trips, and cultural activities.
About CARE: The Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE) prepares and supports first-generation and underrepresented students through a variety of programs and academic support services. learn more at care.fsu.edu
