Zeta Tau Alpha: FSL LineDance by Panhellenic
FSL Linedance is a dance competition presented by the Panhellenic Association at Florida State University. The event is led by the men of Pi Kappa Alpha, Beta Theta Pi, Pi Lambda Phi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, and Theta Chi. FSL Linedance is a new event ready to become a staple event amongst the fraternity and sorority community at Florida State. It represents the strength amongst our fraternity and sorority chapters and preserves the unity and unwavering dedication that the fraternity and sorority community stand for. Below are our beneficiaries for this year's event:
The Unconquered Scholars Program provides an array of support services promoting overall success to youth who experienced foster care, homelessness, relative care, or ward of the State status. Many Scholars have faced profound hardships during childhood that may increase their risk of leaving academia without a degree.
The Collegiate Veteran's Association (CVA) is a group of college-based students. The CVA is focused on creating an inclusive and rewarding college experience for veterans who are returning to education. The CVA is committed to assisting veterans at FSU with the process of reentry into student life.
The brand-new FSU Student Union was completed by May 2022. A student union is the community center of a university. Serving students, faculty, alumni, staff, and guests, the Florida State University Student Union provides outstanding services and opportunities for the entire Seminole community. The Union prides itself on creating a culturally diverse environment that encourages development and leadership for students. In addition, the Union offers the highest caliber of services and activities for guests. FSU Line Dance will have a community conference room in the new Student Union dedicated to our organization upon completion.
The FSU NPHC Park Project will provide a permanent space and physical representation of our National Panhellenic Chapters at FSU. Located adjacent to the new Student Union Building, the park will be prominent and feature statues representing each of the nine Greek letter organizations. This space will serve as an area where students and alumni can gather, hold special events, and celebrate their heritage. The Park will also serve to unite and educate students, staff, and guests about the history of these chapters and black history at Florida State.
Lastly, we will be sponsoring a dance scholarship with the DanceChance Program from The Tallahassee Ballet. DanceChance was initiated in 1997 by Artistic Director Joyce Straub Fausone. The program was created to provide opportunities to economically disadvantaged children while exposing them to the art form of dance.
