The FSU Swiminoles are dedicated athletes, practicing 7-9 times a week, competing regionally 6 times a year, and are actively involved in Campus Recreation. In addition to competing regularly, we also strive to meet several tier requirements within the Sport Club Program, such as community service, supporting our other sport club teams, and participating in leadership workshops.
The Collegiate Swim and Dive Championships is held in April of each year at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Last year, we sent over 25 swimmers to compete with over 100 collegiate level teams from all across the country. This year, with your support, we hope to send at least 30 swimmers to represent us at Nationals!
Although we are a fully competitive team, we are only partially funded by the university. So when it comes to expensive travel events like Nationals, the majority of our funding comes from team fundraising efforts and donors like you!
This year, we expect Nationals to cost us about $4,000, which breaks down to about $135 per swimmer. After a full year of traveling to competitions and hosting our own meet, we aren’t left with much funding by April. With your help, we’d like to send our most competitive travel team yet to best represent the Sport Club Program and Florida State University at the national level.
Nationals is the ultimate showcase of swimmers from all over the U.S. and an incredible weekend for our team. We want to give everyone the chance to compete at the national level, and we hope that you’ll help us get there!
Keep up with our journey to Nationals on our Facebook (FSU Swim Club) or Instagram (@swimclubfsu) !
