Through service-oriented activities, The Big Event promotes campus and community unity as students, faculty, and staff come together for one day to express their gratitude for the support from the surrounding community.  The Big Event strives to embody the ideals of unity and service. This one-day event is not based on socioeconomic need, but rather a way for the student body to join with faculty and staff to express their gratitude to the entire community which supports Florida State University, Tallahassee Community College, and Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University. It is important to remember The Big Event is not about the number of jobs completed or the number of students who participate each year. Instead, it is the interaction and unity between the student community and Tallahassee residents that makes The Big Event such a unique and impactful project.

We have created a Spark project in hopes of using  this 10^th annual Big Event as a foundation year. Though we have been around for 10 years, we want to expand our reach in the community. Your contributions will allow us to buy more tools and supplies to serve volunteer sites around Tallahassee. Your contribution will help The Big Event Tallahassee become not only the largest community service project in Tallahassee, but also the largest community service project in the country.
