The Florida State University Men’s Rugby Club has been invited to play against Trinity College Dublin at Trinity’s historical pitch on the eve of FSU’s football game against Georgia Tech. The game will take place on the evening of August 23rd and will give our players a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our players and for FSU!
This will be the first international match the FSU Men’s Rugby Club has played abroad and will offer the opportunity for FSU to test its skills against one of the most prominent clubs in the UK. Trinity, a sister college to Oxford and Cambridge, has been playing rugby on their campus since 1854, making it the oldest continuous rugby club in the world. FSU’s Rugby team celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2022 and has seen success on the pitch in recent years. The team has won the Florida conference championship for two of the past three years and placed second in the College Rugby Association of America in 2023.
As our team prepares to play abroad, we need your help to make this match a reality. This trip will need to be supported by you, our alumni, parents, and friends. Please consider supporting a player or just giving what you can to make this trip possible!
For those who can make the trip to Ireland, we hope to see you at the match, and for those who are unable and still want to watch, the game will be live-streamed.
All gifts are tax-deductible and will be used to directly support the Club’s expenses. Any funds raised above the goal amount will be used to support the FSU Men’s Rugby Club's general operations.
