A Message from Alma B. Littles, M.D.
Dean, FSU College of Medicine
From enhancing student research programs to supporting clerkship faculty training and student educational sessions, the FSU College of Medicine Dean’s Excellence Fund is often the differentiator between a “good” program and a “great” one.
Today, we ask that you join fellow alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff by making a charitable gift to support the Dean’s Excellence Fund and help the college reach its Great Give goal of $25,000.
Although the goal is important, it’s the impact of your gift that is paramount. Over the past 25 years since our founding, the College has grown in leaps and bounds, thanks to the support of our donors and friends.
As of today, the college has:
- 2,513 alumni from our M.D., Physician Assistant, Ph.D. and Bridge programs;
- $128.5 million in research expenditures for FY 2020-2024;
- 732 enrolled students; and
- 186 full-time faculty and nearly 3,000 part-time clerkship faculty.
What makes us stand apart from other medical schools? Is it that we hold true to our mission of educating health care professionals who value the importance of providing care to the underserved? (We do.) Or is it that a good portion of our alumni stay in the state to meet the needs of Floridians? (They do.) Both are true — and couple those with the fact we are community based, meaning our students are out in the field learning from practicing physicians and serving thousands of patients each day, you quickly see the positive impact this College of Medicine has on the health of individuals and entire communities.
Please, join us. Help us celebrate our major milestones and make a gift that will make a positive impact on our future health care professionals.
