Chat & Grow Cards

The Village at the Florida Center for Reading Research is launching Chat & Grow, a set of conversation cards created to nurture oral language and literacy development in our community’s future readers — from birth to age three. Decades of research on early literacy development have shown that early language skills predict later reading success and one of the best ways to build those skills is through conversations!

Chat & Grow cards will give parents simple, engaging ways to transform everyday moments into language-building opportunities. Whether at the grocery store, in the car, or during bath time, these cards will encourage “serve and return” interactions — the back-and-forth exchanges that build a strong foundation for communication and cognitive development.

With your contributions to our Great Give campaign, we will put these cards directly into the hands of families across our community. Support us as we help families turn daily routines into rich language experiences. When families chat, children grow!

Any unused funds may be used in accordance with the established fund guidelines.
