The Heritage Museum occupies the Werkmeister Reading Room in Dodd Hall, an iconic place in FSU History, completed in 1923 as the official library for the Florida State College for Women and then for Florida State University until Strozier Library opened in 1956.
Today, the Werkmeister Reading Room stands as both a museum and a quiet study space for FSU students. The FSU Heritage Museum is a place for reflection and learning as it relates to the history of Florida State University. The exhibits features historic photographs, artifacts, and ephemera documenting the University’s rich history.
Supporting the Heritage Museum helps preserve one of FSU’s most treasured architectural and academic landmarks. Your gift ensures that this space remains inspiring, accessible, and beautifully maintained for generations to come.
