The Florida Institute for Child Welfare (FICW) at FSU’s College of Social Work supports Florida’s vulnerable children and families, as well as the workers who serve them, through research, evaluation, and programming.
An integral part of these efforts is the integration of state-of-the-art training opportunities within our brand-new Learning Lab. Equipped with two immersion simulation rooms, a control room, and a conference room, the Learning Lab represents a bold step toward modernizing how child welfare professionals are trained. By integrating simulation, virtual reality, and problem-based learning, the Learning Lab creates immersive opportunities for students and professionals to build practical skills in realistic but safe environments.
With your help, the FICW can continue expanding these innovative training opportunities. Your contribution will directly support the supplementation and enhancement of training experiences, education opportunities, and career readiness for child welfare workers dedicated to serving children and families. By investing in these professionals, you help create a stronger, more resilient child welfare workforce that will make a profound difference in the lives of those they serve.
