FSU/Asolo Conservatory - Production Season Support

After 50 years of awarding an MFA in acting, our program remains one of the last standing conservatories in the country, offering a sophisticated blend of graduate classroom training and professional performance opportunities with the Asolo Repertory Theatre.

Your Gift Supports…

Cook Theatre Production Season

It all begins with a stage and an audience. Our Cook Theatre season is designed to showcase the strengths of our second-year graduate actors and challenge first-year students to learn new elements of the production process.

Guests Artists

This year, we are exposing our Conservatory actors to as many professional guest artists as we can fit into our programming. We have 3 guest directors, 4 conservatory-wide workshops led by guest artist,s and numerous guest lecturers for our Business of Acting course.

New Works Play Lab

Most notably, we produced our first New Works Play Lab, a rare and critical experience for our MFA Acting students, in which they developed a full-length play, worked alongside professional playwrights and directors, and culminated in a staged reading. In December, four pieces were workshopped for an invited audience in the Cook Theatre.
