After 50 years of awarding MFA Acting degrees, the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training is now one of the last remaining conservatory programs in the country, offering a sophisticated combination of graduate classroom training with professional performance opportunities with the Asolo Repertory Theatre. 

It all starts with a stage and an audience.  Our Cook Theatre season caters to the strengths of our 2nd year graduate actors and challenges them to achieve new artistic heights!  This season’s plays elevate, engage and entertain Sarasota audiences, while providing a rigorous laboratory for the students to move from practice to praxis.  It is the beginning of endless possibilities.

But it doesn’t happen without you! Our current season to be one of the most ambitious to date. Your gifts provide production support without which we would not have such beautiful sets as that seen in The Curious Savage, the site-specific performance of The Chinese Lady that took place in the Ringling Circus Museum’s Wagon Room, the new and thought-provoking play John Proctor is the Villian, and Sarasota’s onlyShakespeare production, The Winter’s Tale.
