College of Business Presidents Council Support
Comprising presidents from each of the college’s student organizations, the Presidents Council is responsible for disseminating information to members of the college’s 30-plus student organizations. Funds raised through the 2018 Great Give will be distributed to support programs that promote leadership and networking activities, conference attendance, meetings and other student activities. Previous leadership and networking activities have included:
Women in Leadership Conference – The college’s Women in Business organization co-hosts this annual conference that regularly draws more than 400 students. Events of this magnitude require financial support for promotional materials, programs and refreshments.
Faculty & Student Mixers – Each semester, the College of Business Student Leadership Council sponsors social events that allow students to network with faculty members outside of the classroom. Donor support helps cover the cost of these events.
GIS Leadership Symposium – Each year, members of Gamma Iota Sigma, a business fraternity, attend the national GIS Leadership Symposium, where they learn to lead a successful student organization and network with peers from chapters from around the nation. Members of other organizations also attend conferences where they learn leadership skills that benefit their own chapters. Donor support helps cover the cost of conference registration, travel and hotel.
Industry Networking Events – Our student organizations frequently invite industry executives to campus to share information about internships and full-time employment opportunities. Often, these events include a reception where students and executives network in an informal setting. Donor support covers the cost of promoting these events to students, producing a resume book for each executive, and holding the receptions.
Students: Are you up to the challenge?! This year, the Dean of the College of Business, Michael Hartline, will be matching any contributions made by students made during FSU’s Great Give! This gives students the opportunity to double their impact. A small gift can go a long way! Start your legacy today.
