Arts & Athletics Summer Camp
The Arts & Athletics Camp is in its seventh year of providing a day camp on the Florida State University campus to local middle school students in the Tallahassee region that combines arts and athletics as a vehicle to teach and enhance leadership development, academic achievement, socialization and other life skills for local youth. Florida State University students serve as camp counselors and work with university and community partners to expose the youth to post-secondary education and available resources. The program was created by Dean Emeritus Nick Mazza and was established thanks to the generosity of Guy and Dolores Spearman. The camp relies on the assistance of supporters of the FSU College of Social Work and the Tallahassee community to offer this program to the campers at no charge.
