The Honors Experience Program (HEP) supports the enrichment and expansion of an exciting new learning experience for honors students, who choose FSU to pursue meaningful intellectual challenges in a small learning community within a large research university.
In addition to offering a cutting-edge interdisciplinary curriculum that addresses contemporary themes and global challenges, HEP provides students a close community with other honors students through multiple extra-curricular activities and close mentorship by faculty, alumni, and community members beyond FSU. These experiences foster higher-order thinking as a foundation for future leadership roles and academic success.
The program was launched in fall of 2018 with a class of 107 students who have developed student leadership teams to design and implement events beyond the classroom, including a speaker series, movie nights, intramural sports, student-led community dialogs, and a trip to Montgomery and Selma, Alabama to learn more about the history of Civil Rights in the United States.
Through your support, we can offer more students access to each event, expand the scope and diversity of speakers and experiences, and provide financial support for students to engage in HEP field trips in the U.S. and globally.
