Emergency Food Pantry for Students

The FSU Food for Thought Pantry was established by the Dean of Students Department in 2009 to ameliorate food insecurity faced by FSU students. The pantry is supported solely through donations from individuals, departments, and organizations within the FSU community. The pantry is advertised by a growing social media presence, outreach to campus partners, and referrals made by Dean of Students agencies. The pantry has continued to grow to meet the needs of FSU students and now consistently offers a few perishable items and personal care items in addition to non-perishable food.

The food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm (including between academic semesters). Students are asked to present their FSU ID to be granted access to the pantry. As of March 19th, the food pantry has served 598 students for a total of 756 visits during the Spring 2019 semester. The pantry is utilized frequently with peak visits occurring during the first AND last 2-3 weeks of the semester.
