The Village at the Florida Center for Reading Research has teamed with Maya’s Book Nook to strengthen reading and literacy development in our community. Every dollar raised for Book Nook Bundles will help leverage the unique talent and resources of FCRR faculty along with a diverse array of community partners to create learning opportunities designed to meet kids where they are. By focusing on reading achievement, we aim to positively affect the economic prosperity, equitable opportunity, health and well-being, and overall quality of life of everyone in Leon County.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to provide local libraries and community partners with Book Nook Bundles–each containing a story book, story book guide, and an activity that supports early reading and literacy development.
Every $25 contribution will:
- provide one Book Nook Bundle to an area library or children’s service provider,
- offer parents and children engaging resources to support literacy skills at home, and
- deliver a fun, literacy-based activity to students where they are.
Every $100 contribution will:
- provide four Book Nook Bundles to an area library or children’s service provider,
- provide years’ worth of evidence-based resources to our community, and
- improve a child’s reading through family engagement activities.
Every $500 contribution will:
- provide an entire local library with a full set of 20 Book Nook Bundles,
- provide hundreds of families with evidence-informed practices to support literacy development, and
- create county wide success by funding resources to reach thousands of students.
