Students across Florida State University’s campus are innovative, driven to succeed, and willing to take risks. The student engagement fund at the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship provides opportunities for all student entrepreneurs across campus through engagement activities and competitions to develop and showcase their business ventures.
The student engagement fund supports:
- Micro grants: A one-time opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate student businesses to apply for a micro grant up to $5,000.
- InNOLEvation© Challenge: A business model competition with a focus on identifying problems and potential solutions, building effective teams and defining the assumptions of a new venture, testing those assumptions in the field, and pivoting based on lessons learned. This competition is open to all FSU students, offering $30,000 in prizes.
- 7 Under 30: An annual speaker series featuring seven successful FSU alumni entrepreneurs who started businesses before the age of 30.
- Greenhouse Incubator: A space to develop and support students interested in starting or growing a business. Services are provided at no charge to students, and they include assisting new student businesses in developing a working business model, establishing their companies, and progressing to the point of independent operations.
- Student Travel: The Jim Moran College helps lift the financial burden associated with student travel to external entrepreneurship competitions and conferences.
