Our First-Year Experience initiative, created to engage business-intent freshmen in their first year on campus, includes a new Engage 100 class and, beginning in fall 2024, a Business Living-Learning Community. Housed in Azalea Hall, business-intent freshmen will live together and engage with the college and explore their career interests – as soon as they step foot on campus.
The initiative also features Mark Zeigler, a long-respected and -beloved FSU faculty member who recently joined the college to become director of First-Year Experience Programs. Zeigler touts FSU’s uniqueness and penchant for offering “something for everyone.”
A senior lecturer, he takes the same approach with his students, saying he works to ensure that they “can be a responsible member of a community and carve out a role, a niche, and that they can contribute and feel good about the time that they’ve had here on this earth.”
