Support CARE - Greater Orlando Seminole Club

The Seminole Club of Greater Orlando is making a difference for students in the CARE program: the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement.

Unconquered Scholars, students who have experienced foster care, homelessness, relative care or ward of the state status, also benefit from the CARE program.

Orlando Noles can make a significant difference for a CARE student by donating:

  • $500 to support textbooks for one student for one year.

  • $1,500 to support tuition for one student for one year.

  • $6,000 to support tuition for one student for four years.

“Not only am I a first generation college student, but I also represent a small percentage of the student body that has been raised in either foster or relative care. CARE developed the Unconquered Scholars program to provide additional support for students from similar backgrounds to ensure we are academically-enriched and mentally-encouraged during the course of our college experience.”

“During my four years here at FSU I have been shown selfless compassion, dedication and encouragement from the CARE program and their faculty. CARE has shown me that although my past is a defining aspect of who I am, it is not a hindrance to what I am capable of here at Florida State; my challenges, trials and tribulations can be used as a platform to encourage other first generation foster care youth that no dream is too big.”

“The Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement took me in from the moment I stepped foot on campus, and has not left my side since. CARE has continued to enhance my education at Florida State, introducing me to opportunities that I never thought would be possible, especially as an undergraduate student.”
