Sponsored by W4FSU and The Center For Leadership & Social Change, the national, award-winning Women’s Leadership Institute has developed, encouraged, and celebrated diverse FSU undergraduate female students by providing leadership experience, education, and reflection. Throughout the immersive, three-day program, participants enhance their leadership identity and capacity by honing their social and emotional intelligence skills, boosting their self-esteem and authenticity, developing relationships and creating effective teams through recognition and celebration of diverse strengths and skill sets.
With your support, we will be able for the first time to host a new spring event which will continue the community so integral to the Women’s Leadership Institute process by providing a dedicated space for program alumnae to reunite, catch up, and stay engaged in continued learning around women’s leadership development.
The new spring event will build upon the foundation of knowledge participants gain during the weekend-long fall institute, providing continuity and renewing participant commitment to their leadership identity. Participants will enjoy refreshments and fellowship, and will engage with a thought-provoking panel of WLI facilitators and committee members, faculty and staff, members of W4FSU, and recent FSU Grads & WLI alumnae. The panel will highlight personal connection to representation in the workplace and building community, while allowing the opportunity to specifically address questions from attendees.
All gifts up to $5,000 will be matched thanks to the gracious contributions from our 2019 Backstage Pass attendees.

Want to know more about your investment in WLI?
WLI engages 49 diverse undergraduate women, seven faculty, staff, alumna facilitators and nine committee members in three days of learning and applying leadership, gender theory and practice.
Topics explored include:
- Naming and understanding current campus, community, state, national and global contexts that influence individual identities and that impact women’s experiences,
- Developing awareness and recognition of individual and systemic bias that can keep women out of leadership roles and question their capacity to lead, and
- Acknowledging and celebrating women’s capacity to change this system and lead the change they wish to see in the world.
WLI brings student participants together with faculty, staff, alumna, campus and community women leaders to explore their leadership capacity and goals.
