Help us continue to bring in top scientists in their respective fields to present seminars to our students. Exposure of students to academic areas outside of their given fields provides an opportunity for academic and career growth.

Support College Seminar Series

The seminar series is integral to growth and development of the students and faculty in the department of Nutrition & Integrative Physiology and the Department of Human Development & Family Science.  The seminar series provides a platform for graduate students to gain valuable experience and practice disseminating their research findings and ideas in a public setting, which is typically found at large research conferences. The students also gain experience answering questions (from both students and faculty), which requires them to think about their work in a different way or provide clarity on a particular topic. The College invites top scientists from their respective fields to give seminars, which exposes the students and the faculty to academic areas that might not necessarily be their given area of expertise. These invited speakers also provide academic/career development opportunities for the students, including an introduction to non-academic career paths and what students need to do/should not do during their schooling. In all, the seminar series is a valuable education tool for both the students and faculty as it contributes to their scholarly growth and development through various modes of education and enrichment, and your financial support allows the College of Health and Human Sciences to bring in top talent from around the world.
