For members of the Hardee Center’s LifeNet, we know the power of helping one another through sharing knowledge of best practices, providing learning opportunities for students, and sharing job opportunities with emerging professionals. It is the very strength of our relationships with one another that make the LifeNet so strong.

The legacy of Dr. Melvene Hardee continues to connect Higher Education professionals to one another and to improve our field.  As part of the 10 year anniversary of the Great Give, we are hoping to raise $7,500 to support our textbook and textbook drive and professional development activities.

By purchasing textbooks used in Higher Education classes, the Hardee Center keeps student expenses low by working with our faculty members to learn what textbooks they use and providing as many free copies of our master’s and doctoral textbooks as possible. The Hardee Center Resource Library will host both digital and physical copies of textbooks for the students to check out as needed.

In addition to our textbook goals, the Hardee Center is continually looking for opportunities of professional development. This year we were able to provide registrations to both master’s and doctoral students for the two main (virtual) conferences, NASPA and ACPA through Hardee Center funds. Additionally, we are working to readjust the Hardee Fellowship model and build out additional professional development programs to ensure both master’s and doctoral students benefit from the fundraising that happens during the Great Give.
